Join DYW & Youth Scotland's session for educators, careers advisors and other professionals who work with young people.

Youth Scotland's Dynamic Youth Award is an extremely flexible and accessible qualification that can wrap around any DYW activity and provide a framework for recognising and accrediting the skills and achievements of young people gained through participating in the activities and projects you already offer through DYW programmes.

This session takes place on Wednesday 24th April - 3:30pm - 4:30pm.

Diodes Incorporated are holding an Apprentice Open Evening on Wednesday 6th March at their site in Greenock as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2024!

National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, University of Strathclyde, West College Scotland and Scottish Engineering will also be in attendance to speak about apprenticeship routes into engineering.

Parents and carers are welcome to attend.

DYW West are supporting Inverclyde Council with a new STEM Festival taking place the w/c 3rd June 2024.

We are aiming to have employers deliver STEM activity in primary schools (during the day Mon-Fri) and secondary schools in the evening (Mon-Thu).

The purpose of the festival is to get more young people interested in STEM subjects and future careers.

If you have a STEM activity you could deliver please look at the attached spreadsheet (download in attachments section below) – pick a school(s) and date(s) and let us know by contacting us on info@dywwest.co.uk with Inverclyde STEM Fest in the title. The 2^nd tab of the spreadsheet has info we would also need so please complete that and return the spreadsheet to the email above.

We are planning for Scottish Apprenticeship Week which takes place between 4^th-8^th March 2024.

This is a great opportunity for your organisation to showcase your apprenticeship pathways into your company/sector.

We are looking for employers who would be interested in taking part in the following:

Social media campaign - Apprenticeship photo opportunity. To take part please send us a picture of your apprentices and your logo. This picture will then be used on our social media platforms throughout SAW week.
Talks & Tour of your company with school pupils - Would you be interested in hosting a talk and tour of your workplace for any of our local schools? Transport will be covered by schools.
